Slow Life In La Ciotat

$10.00

Curated and photographed by Camille Lhomme

“I was born in Marseille and grew up visiting my grandmother in La Ciotat, a city where my maternal family has been living for six generations now. The post-swim salty skin, the blinding light of the sun, and the lound sound of cicadas – these are some of the memories of my childhood spent in La Ciotat with my adored Odette. The taste of the raspberry Vacherin in the shade of her ivy-covered blind with Schubert tunes on the piano, is an image that is forever engraved in my mind. I chose to move back here so that my children would grow up in my grandmother’s house, with a bit of her presence. La Ciotat is more than a city, it’s a way of life. Professional photographers, cinema directors and watercolorists from around the world are inspired by its light, its truth, and its authenticity. Live like a “ciotaden” by pushing barely open street doors, getting lost in its alleys and raising your head at every sound. Treasures hide on every street corner. Bienvenue à La Ciotat, where slow life is a condition.”
