Slow Life in Madrid
Curated and photographed by Anna Codorníu
“When I first moved to Madrid, I felt overwhelmed. The bars and restaurants that never sleep, the night life, the amazingly wide cultural and artistic offer... As an introvert person, I need few stimuli in order to function, and I love slow life – I felt maybe this was too much for me. However little by little, Madrid and I got to know each other. I started the habit of going for a walk every morning with no fixed direction; I would wander through its streets, making turns and entering little alleys whenever something caught my eye. That’s when I realized that there was a whole other side of the city; a less aggressive and kinder one. A more slow-paced Madrid full of creativity and craftsmanship. I discovered a crowd of creative and passionate locals running their own businesses, following their heart and intuition, and moving away from the trends that seem to rule our lives. I fell in love with this Madrid. And that’s the side of the city I wanted to share with you. I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.”
