Montreal Favorites

Curated and photographed by Maud Simon.

“The first time I visited Montreal, I was surprised by its duality. Some parts made me think of old European cities, whereas the downtown skyscrapers reminded me that I was, in fact, in North America. For me, this duality is what makes for the charm and singularity of the city — from the quietness of the Griffintown neighborhood to the effervescence of St. Catherine street. In a few minutes, you can easily swap the city for nature and go skiing at Mount Royal or explore the vast Botanical Garden. Montreal is lovely at all seasons, but I must say that the snow gives it a certain charm. The first time I discovered it was in winter, and I’ll always remember it. Mixing good food, architecture, contemporary art, and local shops, Montreal is a vibrant city with a communicative energy. This guide will help you to discover all these facets.”
