Postcards from Bath

by Alixe Lay

I’ve been lucky enough to call Bath my home for the past four years.

With many corners looking like timeless scenes, this city is able to maintain its former glory while also being very much part of the present. Originally known as Aquæ Sulis by the Romans in AD 60, Bath is a well-preserved world heritage city that can be explored on foot.

Though often defined by its tourism, there are many wonderful places that escape most visitors’ radar. Underneath its beige surface lies a hidden beauty that most weekend visitors fail to see. Sure, it is possible to see all the main attractions in an afternoon, but when appreciated at a slower pace and with mindful eyes, Bath will reveal its true colours.

This path will help you see and get to know this city from a local’s perspective. Get up high and see Bath from above, and get close to the heart of the city by walking through the lesser known streets.
