Fall in love with Vintage Edinburgh

by Marta Beres-Karpinska

I remember that my first impression of Scotland’s capital was of the magnificent, vintage style of the city. I have come to agree with Sir Walter Scott who once said:

“If I were to choose a spot from which the rising or setting sun could be seen to greatest possible advantage, it would be that wild path winding around the foot of the high belt of semicircular rocks, called Salisbury Crags, and marking the verge of the steep descent which slopes down into the glen on the south - eastern side of the city of Edinburgh... . When a piece of scenery so beautiful, yet so varied, - so exciting by its intricacy, and yet so sublime, - is lighted up by the tints of morning or of evening, the effect approaches near to enchantment.”

I want to take you with me on this virtual tour to my loveliest Edinburgh’s spots with stunning natural scenery framed by an enviable array of architecture.

Vintage shops, Georgian style streets, little boutique cafes or bakery shops. There are so many brilliant independent cafes and hidden, secret places that deserve local recognition and praise. The best of Edinburgh is right here in front of you to explore.
