A long week-end in Venice
by Cecile Molinie
Venice stole my heart when I was 16 and I came there many times since then. The magic works every time.
Venice is a living museum with no cars and always a quiet place to discover. Paintings from the great Italian masters in every little church, the colors, the smells and Italian cuisine... We went there last spring and I filled three days with museums, palazzi, boat tours, lots of walking and delicious treats. We came back early January to a very different city, off season is a good idea too.
The winter light is more subtle, we experienced aqua alta and some snow, which made everything even more magical.
